Busy Day Ends With a Recipe of the Day 10/1/11

Hey Everyone,

I spent the day doing my normal weekend activities, my son bowls on Saturday mornings, and watched him do very well today shooting 182, 247, 194 for a 624 series!! Excellent!!! Then my other son had their High School JV football game today and won 56-0.  Unfortunately for him he got a stinger and had to sit out the 2nd half.  He’s doing fine, little sore, but he’s a football player…shakes it off, and with a rest day tomorrow, he’s ready to go again 😀

So I come home, and made a 16oz Rib Eye from my supply of beef I got from MM Livestock Co. The meat is just amazing and so flavorful!! I have not had any Grass Fed/Finished beef that is better than their product!! I also made some homemade ice cream, so simple, very easy to control the sweetness, and is perfect for after dinner.  If you want to try, just blend 2 cans of Coconut milk, I use Trader Joe’s Light Coconut Milk, 1tbsp of coconut oil (good added fat to compliment the light coconut milk), 2 bananas, 1/2 cup of frozen strawberries, 1/8th cup of Raw Honey, 4 tbsp pure vanilla.  Blend together for about 30 seconds, and immediately pour into your ice cream maker and in 25 min, you have an awesome frozen treat!! 😀

Busy day, all winding down, and I sign in to facebook and what do I find?? A Recipe of the Day feature from my friends at!!! So for your collection of my recipes on their site, here is Big Tim’s Grok Pot Pulled Pork!! I used a pork shoulder also from MM Livestock Co. and it was just as amazing as their beef!! Add the recipe to your bookmarks!!

A shout out to my buddy Neil “Goliath” Grove!!! He’s fighting tonight on the Bellator MMA heavyweight card!! Neil’s a Paleo warrior and he’s fighting for a chance at $100,000!!! Good luck buddy!!

Also, I have to give a special shout out to my buddy George Bryant, the man behind the Civilized Caveman Cooking Creations site!! I had the pleasure of finally meeting the man behind the logo!! 😀 He is real, and a super dude, and I’m happy to call him friend!! You all know his stuff!! I had been making his Crock Pot Pork for the last 5 months, and I decided to create my own.  So now you have 2 different awesome Pulled Pork recipes to pick from.  Thanks for your inspiration buddy!!

I wish everyone a happy rest of the weekend, and a healthy October, we are in the fall season and getting to the danger zone time of tons of tempting foods and holiday meals that won’t be agreeable to most of the Primal/Paleo world!! There are always alternatives to the classic dishes, so stay tuned for updated recipes for alternatives to the high carb/gluten filled/sugar bomb foods we don’t eat anymore!! Between me and the Caveman and the many other friends who run various blogs out there, this time of year doesn’t have to be a derailment of your lifestyle!! Enjoy yourself, but don’t sacrifice your health for foods that don’t agree with you anymore!!
